Windows Live Messenger
Hello All,
great site.
I just got my BB (8320 curve) about 2 weeks ago, Im really loving it, but cant seem to download or install windows live messenger. Via my BBs browser I searched in google and found a link to Blackberry's softtware download site (cant posts links yet)
when I select the link the browser title reads Browser Incorrect, the page itself says I need IE to download the software on to my BB, so I change the browser to emulate IE, now I get another page where it now says Mode Not Available (reads: downloads via USB not valid for this software). Im really not getting it, anybody else with this prob? any help ? I wpuld really like to setup WLM on my BB....
Thanks
Eric

You may have tried this already but go to this link from your Blackberry and see if this works any better than what you tried before:
http://www.blackberry.com/devicesoft...ry.do?code=wlm

It says on RIM's website that WLM is only available on the following: BlackBerry 7130e, BlackBerry 7250 and BlackBerry 8703e from Bell Mobility, BlackBerry 8800 from T-Mobile USA. Neither your model nor your carrier is in the list. I think that the carrier has to pay an annual fee to Microsoft if they want their users to have it.
There are several other programs that you can you for IM with WLM. What I use and what most people say is the best is JiveTalk: BeeJive :: JiveTalk mobile messenger - instant messaging to go
It's great because it puts everything all in one: "Works with multiple IM networks, multiple accounts per network: AIM/iChat, MSN, Yahoo!, GoogleTalk, ICQ, Jabber, and MySpace IM."
There is a free 30-day trial. After that you have to pay for it. There is a $20 version that is registered to your device and can never be moved to a different device and another $30 one that is transferable. You may be able to get $5 off using code IPRELAY with the $20 one or RIMEDU with the $30 one.

How much data transfer does JiveTalk use approximately?
Got T-Mobiles 'unlimited' web and walk, but it has a fair usage of 1gb. Only plan to really use messenger when I'm out (which is really during weekdays).
Would it use loads?
