My app memory is terrible to say the least after just a few hours it goes all the way down to 0.0. Needless to say that my phone it almost unusable at that point. Even when i do battery pulls (quick pull) it never is abot 20.0 and quickly drops to single digits.

My girlfriend just got a Tour and I was checking her memory. (she has the same apps as me, Weatherbug, Pandora, and BBM 5.0) Her memory was an
ASTONISHING 80.9 last night and doesn't go very much lower! I couldn't believe it!

My question is what can i do to get my memory up. I use Storm Slider, Ubertwitter, Weatherbug, BBM 5.0 and Pandora also. Even when these are not running in the background my memory is still single digits, and on its way down to zero!!!!!!!

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many themes do you have saved on your phone? What OS? Are you closing out of your apps? (BB button > Close)

Also, her Tour will always have more memory than your Storm. The Tour has 256MB while the Storm has 128MB

Same deal with my Storm except it takes usually about 12 hours or so to drain my memory all the way down. I have no themes except the default and I have uninstalled app after app to figure out the memory drain and no difference. The only app I keep running besides the default ones is UberTwitter (yes i deleted this for a couple days to see if it was the problem and same deal).

UberTwitter will eat away at your app mem if you leave it running in the background. The constant searching for updates is the issue - same issue with weather apps.

Maybe so but I deleted UberTwitter and went without it for 2 days, same memory drain.

That's impressive. I have no where near 30 (15 or so) and boot to about 32. My mem drain is tiny, dropping 7ish in 9 hours, so I'm more curious how you do that than concerned about my memory.

    What OS are you running?

I have one theme saved (that I never use) and I always close out my programs. So I dunno. Should I delete my theme??

Yes I am doing this. I only have 15 or so Apps so my phone is not overloaded with apps.

im running 151. Themes are big hitters, some are 1.5 MB in size and some apps are huge. You just have to watch what you install. My theme only takes up 400Kbs basically.

Also the TOUR has 256 not 128 MBs so that is why it has more room.

That cannot be it, I don't have near 30 apps. I have 15 at the most without counting.

Plus that should not affect your App (Ram) memory if they are not actually running. Its just like a computer, unless you got a lot of programs running at the same time you should not experience memory loss, right?

Check for QuickPull. It will reset your BB as you were taking out the battery; it helps a lot in order to recover the memory being use.

as I stated before, I (after quick pull) only start out with 20 at the most! I want a tour, what are the chances of getting verizon to get me one as a replacement?? This is my second Storm.

That depends on how far into your contract you are...or whether or not you have $489.99

OS .151 is amazing on memory managment. Before .151 i would drop down to about 20mb from 40mb in the course of 4 hours. I switch to .151 and Shrink-A-Os and i dont drop more than 1mb. Switch to .151 and see if it improves.

Mine goes down to 0.0 fairly frequently as well.

I was just at 0.0. I shut down:
    Gmail
    WeatherBug
    Opera
    PodTrapper
    Slacker
    Google Maps
    BB Media Player

All had been running. Now the only things running are things you can't close (plus Options, which is open so I can see how much memory is free):
    BB Messenger
    Browser
    Home
    Messages
    Phone

Free App Memory only made its way up to 11.0 MB. If I reboot, it'll be something like 20.

Every app you install reduces your app memory, it doesnt matter if the app is running or not.
