WHERE GPS Mobile Application, iPhone App & Location Based Services Development Platform
GPS feature won't work on VZW Berries.
Just think...the one time you leave the GPS on when you are hookin up... and the "other woman" finds out EXACTLY where you are.
Seem like a great app now? LOL
I have Where loaded on my Curve. It's not one of my most used, but it's a great little app if you travel a lot. You download Where "widgets" which give you information that you are interested in and the information is specific to your location; anything from weather to nearby golf course, gas stations, Starbucks, etc.
There's supposed to be widgets that allow you to update your location in Facebook and Twitter automatically, but I haven't bothered with those. I use it mainly for location-specific weather. The app and service are totally free, so it won't hurt to download it and see which of the widgets suit you.

Can you compare it to rival apps, such as Beyond411?
Okay, I installed this and played around some. First impression, nice interface. The locator was fairly accurate: even indoors it had my street address only two numbers off, and even though my little town doesn't even rate its own zip code it named the town properly instead of defaulting to the city nearby.
I didn't see anything abouit widgets to download, but it came pre-installed with a lot of search categories. It looks like it interfaces you to other search engines and hands you off to them (things like entertainment, gas, food, each has its own link) and gives you a menu choice to get back to the main app. Entertainment gave me good info on some local venues, and not just movies. It got a local college hockey game and a theater production downtown. Nice. The food place missed a couple of local joints when I searched on pizza, but they're pretty new so I'll give it a pass.
The app itself runs kind of slowly on my Curve. There is a real slowness to scrolling through the main menu, so much that it's easy to overshoot what you want to pick. It seemed to hang up when I tried to exit, so that I had to give the exit command twice. Not sure why it would be so laggy.
I'll keep it for a while, overall I like it okay. It seems to be a more in-depth app than Beyond411 with access to more databases.

Duh. Found the widgets section, at the bottom of the main menu. In my defense as I was scrolling down that lag hit and it first froze then jumped past the bottom and back to the top so I missed seeing it the first time. I think part of the lagginess is I'm down to 9MB file free mem. Time to clear cache and reboot. :p

I have been trying to load the current version on a Sprint 8330m and it will not load. My question is which version do you have loaded? Maybe knowing the version I can get ahold of that version. Thanks
