This has been reported already in this thread http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=597936

but I thought I'd post it here as well.

For some reason Whatsapp has been using A LOT of CPU resources and memory lately, which has caused huge battery drain on my Bold. I had to delete the app and all of a sudden, my battery life is excellent again.

    Anyone else experiencing issues?

Same here, I upgraded yesterday to the .2606 and that's when I noticed the slowing down of my BB. I'm going to go ahead and delete and reinstall to see if this helps me.

I was using the previous version before the new beta that came out....but even the beta started having some crazy CPU usage like constant 80-90% and my BB started hourglassing like crazy so I deleted it

    eedwinn,

What version of Whatsapp are you currently?

Like the OP I too have had to uninstall the program on my 9780 and archive it at App World because it was using up all my cpu processes.

Same here, upgraded to the latest whatsapp 2.6.2606 and it is draining a lot of my blackberry resources and battery. Wished i hadn't upgraded so soon. Had to restart the phone very often. Strangely this doesn't occur immediately when the app is running in the background, only starts to happen a while after some conversations on whatsapp. hope the will fix it soon or is there a way to download the previous version again?

I installed whatsapp on my storm 2 three days ago. Worked fine on day one then it started with the red square clocks and I had to reboot my phone everytime I wanted to send a msg. Had to reboot 12 times yday. At the same time I noticed, after charging the phone fully, it wld be drained after about 5 hrs and my storm just kept freezing up. After fully charging my phone last night, I switched it on at 7 this morning and it was completely dead again by 12pm. My storm 2 usually holds its charge all day perfectly with average use (for me). I've just had to delete whatsapp. Not for me at all. I'll stick with bbm.

I'm happy to post that it does not cause any of the problems I had with .2606.

    Thanks whatsapp!

.2725 has been working great on my Storm 2 for the past 8hrs. No lag, no freezing and no massive battery drain so far.

    Thanks!

Wanted to upgrade to .2725 but when I got to the OTA link it says .2739 and now it's stuck in the Registering part until it times out. I do have a BIS plan and was previously able to upgrade to .2717

    Anyone got OTA for .2717?

Upgrade to .7275, still same crazy batt drain. Fully charge at 7am and phone die at 11pm, unbelievable. Normally my 9700 can last 2 and a half day with normal usage.

Was using this app since my buddy went to a droid phone. It COMPLETELY drained my battery. The final straw was when I had 80% battery life and 20 minutes later my phone DIED. So I deleted the app and guess what? ALL MY CONTACTS GOT DELETED TOO!!!! Luckily I have them backed up on my computer. I have a BB Curve 8530. THIS APP SUCKS!!!
