Hi - So I've had my curve for about 10 months. I love it, and I've bought several apps that have an authorization code generated from my PIN. And so I was wondering if my PIN changes because

1) if my unit breaks or is stolen and I replace it, OR

2) at the end of 2 years, I buy a new one.

What happens with all these apps? Do I have to buy them again? Or will places like Handango pleasantly supply me with a new code?

In general, you should be able get a new code for the new device. The new OS may require app upgrades, though, that can only be acquired by paying the upgrade price.
