Ok, so everytime I try to backup my apps using BBSAK or Desktop manager, (im using 6.0)

I lose my third party apps.

I have uninstalled OS 6 for my bold 9650, and both times I have backed up my apps and then when i restore, all my settings, pix, calendar entries come back, but not my apps..;


How the F do i save 3rd party apps? any other programs that work better?

Well, in most cases when I've done an OS upgrade, Desktop Manager has restored my 3rd party apps.

But I always manually backup the apps using bbsak. I don't necessarily restore them using bbsak but do have the cod files in case of emergency or to go back to an earlier version of an app.

There is also a method folks use, using the DeviceSwitchWizard where you can stop it part-way and copy the folder it creates, then cancel it. It should be covered in the faq.

If you install 3rd party apps only using .cod files and no .alx (through BBSAK), DM will always remove them on sync...
