Comming from using a Treo, I kind of miss the smiley faces you can send through sms. They arent real pictures being sent, just icons that the Treo transposes over certain combinations of text, kind of like the emoticons or smilies you can put into these forum posts.
I'm thinking about developing a BB app or two that I could potentially give away for free, so I'm curious as to what other users would like to see as an available app.
i would love to see a true voip program that uses bandwidth not the phone callback solution...winmo has it, palm has it, and iphone has it...why not bb?
Most of these are tough apps that I would most likely not be able to develop and provide as freeware. But they are some great ideas. I like the barcode app on the G1, that is a sweet app.
SatNav that has maps on the device or SD card and doesn't pack in the moment you lose network coverage (Telmap won't even START if you've no data connection). Some good that is when you've taken a wrong turn off the beaten track - isn't that when you REALLY need GPS assistance?
Seriously - ALL other smartphone platforms bar the iPhone have this available- why not BB?
One of my favorite apps from the treo was KEYCAPS. It was a freeware util that allowed you to dbl tap a letter on the keyboard to get the alternate character instead of first having to hitt the "alt" key. In other words, on my curve right now, I have to hit alt+n to get a comma, but with keycaps all you would have to do would be to "n" twice rapidly.
