Wondering if this is normal and if so why?

vlingo seems to require data connection. But the BB voice dailing doesn't, so I don't really understand why vlingo needs a connection to do what it does. I tried using it once when I was out of range of my wifi (I don't have data plan, i rely on wifi), and it wouldn't do anything.

Isn't it accessing the internet to get updates on each of the feeds?

Vlingo no viigo

1- you record a capture of your voice
2- it sends to vlingos servers where it is electronically transcribed
3- you get the results on your berry
4- you change what it messed up
5- you "finish" and your revised copy is sent back to vlingo
6- your task is completed, and vlingo has more information to adapt to your specific style of speaking

Try reading to your vlingo, and watch how it gets better

thanks, I didn't know how it worked. So vlingo has all my data on their servers? And every word that i say?

Note to self: don't use vlingo for sensitive data!
vlingo repeats "note to self, USE vlingo for everything!"
