I saw on Lifehacker that there is a VLC app for IPhones (called vlc4iphone oddly enough).

Is there a vlc4bb? Or specifically a VLC app for Storm?

    THANKS!!

I'm creating an app to control winamp through my storm. Its actually the first app i've ever written in java so its going to take some time but i dont see why i couldnt port it for use with VLC once i have the backend running.

One issue would be that the iPhone App uses Wi-fi to control VLC.

There is one that exists, however it is only available for the Bold currently and costs $10.

I don't understand. VLC is a media player that most people, including me, are using on their laptops to play videos. Why do we need to remote control for the VLC media player? Is it because you want to hook up your laptop with your HDTV? If that is true, I still think the usability is really limited though.

Not everyone uses a laptop. My desktop computer has VLC on it and I use the remote with my creative soundcard to control it. My computer is my TV so its the same reason people want a remote with a TV or DVD player.
