I recently switched from an iphone to a BB. I loved the visual voicemail on iphone and was excited to find out that BB now has it. I was then dissapointed to leaarn that it dosent come pre installed and that I have to add an extra cost to my bill every month, although it isnt much.

I understand that there are other ways to get visual voice mail other than through att for free? What is the best way? Thanks!

Well I am using BB VVM for free, just add it to your phone number *via att website/account* if you have a 9000 Bold or 9700 Bold 2 aka Mini Bold.. It should be $ 0.00 option. Mine was and I love it but you need a Blackberry data plan in order to use it.

I don't pay for VVM with AT&T. You need to add it to your features but it should be no charge.

for Sprint there is not cost. There is a cost from Youmail if you use the transcription service. Otherwise free. You can download it OTA from the free app page on this site

VVM is absolutely free on AT&T, there is no need for any other solution.
