Weather Eye by The Weather Network has been working flawlessly until they offered an updated version. After successfully installing, every time i click the icon i get a Uncaught exception GUIFactory, startscreen error and doesnt load.

I tried reinstalling several times and deleting it as well. Battery pulled couple times but no go.

    Anyone else have this issue?

Works great on my BB, and it's got some nice new features too.

Maybe see if there's a link somewhere to put in a trouble report, they might be able to find a solution.

BerryWeatherFree is free and is quite awesome.

As a test I just uninstalled and reinstalled WeatherEYE. No go.

    Will try to dig deeper.

What OS are you running? I still have the 4.6.whatever, maybe it's an issue if you have anything like version 5?

Ya got me, could also be a compatibility issue with another app that's installed. My BB is pretty bare so I'm not too sure.

You may want to look carefully at which upgrade you chose. When I recently upgraded BerryWeather there was a specific upgrade for 5.0 OS to choose from. Maybe the one you chose won't work on 4.6?

You can also try BeWeather. Ther is a free version that works very nice, or you can get a paid version that has more bells and whistles.

I downloaded the new weathereye from app world and it runs flawlessly on 5.0.0.461. Unless there's a "new" or beta version out I don't know about??

Working fine on my 8900 5.0.0.461 - I haven't seen any changes and I still have 'no data' for hourly or short term forecasts, which was the same in the previos version.

i actually just finished posting about this - disable the firewall and then when you get the permisson prompts dont check anything just hit allow - the only glitch when you turn firewall back on is - when you press the back button it will give you an error - just hit ok - theres still something amiss but the app will work as normal .
