There is no update. That is a bug in DM4.6 and 4.7 when you have an OS exe installed on your PC that every time you plug it, it'll try to update the core part of the OS. It's been discussed many times.

I got it too today on DM 5.0. I dismissed it though cause I am running a hybrid and copied and pasted a bunch of alx files and stuff.

    hahaha nice

also, i don't work for RIM and/or know all of their internal workings, but i was under the assumption that RIM wouldn't push out an update to the Core of an OS ... once they compile an OS and it goes out to carriers any changes made to the Core would be recompiled under a new version

It's a miracle... if you uninstall the OS from your computer, all of a sudden, you stop getting these update requests!

Seriously, it's just like Civic stated. And if you uninstall all of the OSes from your computer, you don't get these messages anymore. There is no pushed update from RIM and you don't want to do the update (usually, it doesn't do anything, but every so often, it can actually mess up your OS).

Exactly!! I did this update to my last storm and it caused my screen to black out and never come back!! Had to take it to VZ and have it replaced!! Becareful!!
