Does Smrtguard has plans to include an option to also back up the BB Messenger contacts? This would be important for me because most of my. BB Messenger contacts are not in the address book, so If Iwere to wipe out my data I would loose all the pins.

I have tried the "Locate" and "Audio Ping" and "Track" but no results at all. The Storm shows some activity on the inbound/outbound indicators, but no results on the web site. If I watch closely I may see a brief flash of a popup on the screen as if a new msg has come in but it disappears quickly and nothing further happens.

04-27-09 05:01 PMLike 0 - Ok, so I just got a notification that tracking had started and then stopped. I had just re-installed this early this afternoon, but I haven't been on the website for hours? I quickly uninstalled as this was a little disconcerning. Anyone else see this?

During install I granted all access. I love the idea behind this and despite my own problems with it have already strongly advised a few friends with BBs to go check it out. - you need to open SmrtGuard >> BB Key >> About SmrtGuard >> BB Key >> Reactivate.
You then need to re-enter the activation code. It is available from the PC dashboard.
The activation code is case sensitive. I had to reactivate and reboot three times before it would start locating, pinging, or lock from the web dashboard.04-29-09 09:45 AMLike 0 - But instead of rejecting an incorrect activation code, SmrtGuard will accept a code entered in the wrong case and say activation was successful. Then the ping and tracking don't work.
That's what happened to me when I upgraded my OS, and I went nuts trying to find the problem.
BuckyBoy is right about the reactivation, which fixed my problem. Even if you think you did it right the first time around, try reactivation (and battery pulls). Mine works like a charm now.04-29-09 07:31 PMLike 0 - Just received the update they pushed out this evening:

I downloaded and installed 1.10, but must tell you, this is the second update in a row that after installing it, I no longer can backup my contacts and events. Last one (1.08) lasted 5 minutes on my BB before I went back to 1.05, I will wait on this one until you confirm me if this is a reported issue.

I tried about 4 times this, I turned Wi-Fi off and the Bakcup ran perfectly, then I turned th Wi-Fi again, and again, same error.
It will be good to know if the new versions are trying to access an specific port that may be closed in the router, it's the explanation as of why until version 1.05 everything was fine, but no with 1.08 and 1.10.

- I was having the same error (Just see my posts above where I posted the Event logs), everything seem to indicates that it was Wi-FI, if I turned wi-fi of it worked. I'm talking in past tense because I got a new 8900 as a replacement to my other 8900, and I tried yesterday to backup with Wi-Fi turned on and I could without issues. Well, I'm happy because it worked again just like it was working before for me, but still don't understand why my previous phone was working and then it suddenly stopped working until I turned Wi-Fi off.05-11-09 03:05 PMLike 0
