Here's just the must haves IMHO

1. QuickLaunch is a must have shortcut app for the Storm. Everyone should have.

2. Viigo. It is a big app that uses some resources, but it is IMO its a must have. - With viigo you can keep up to date with new content from your favorite sites. (CB blogs, other bb site blogs, your local newspaper web page stories) options are really unlimited. Not to mention all the sports, weather, and tons of new stuff. Customize it to just get the info you want and it's FREE!

3. Really liking BerryBuzz. It's something that should be included in the OS. I like changing the LED to different things. Bright red is my favorite. Still looks stock, but I love just how bright it is

Not must haves, but close to it.

1. Googlemaps. much better than bb maps and the gps feature now works.

2. Weatherbug best weather app I have found so far. I love the current temp on my homescreen.

gosh seems like quick launch is a must have by everyone, looks like it will be my first "paying" app I buy here

i got shortcutme instead of quick launch,

it is newer and therefor now as popular as quicklaunch, but i prefer the features...

with quicklaunch you press whichever convenience key you assign it too and you get a list of programs to "quicklaunch" into. many themes are now beginning to integrate the program in to where you actually don't assign it to a convenience key but can press a hidden icon on their theme to do it.

shortcut me does not provide a simple scolling list but you assign both convenience keys to it and you press either one once to open it. from there you have the option to open any program. the added benefit to me though is you can assign double, triple, and quadruple convenience click shortcuts (up to six total)

for example;

my left side
double click - storm slider
triple click - extra light
quadruple click - capture it

my right side
double click - mobile checkbook
triple click - poynt
quadruple click - camera

it just a matter of preference

as far as apps go...of those i have;

must have's:
buzzme - allows phone to vibrate and ring at same time
extralight - functions as flashlight (set to shortcutme or convenience key for best usability)
facebook - excellent way to keep up with your profile
googlemaps - gps functionality, better than bb maps IMO
poynt - excellent tool to find businesses (restaurants,stores,etc) or movies near you
quickpull - simulates a battery pull, critical to avoid the hassle of doing it after every app/theme install and uninstall
shortcutme - i prefer its multi-click options over quicklaunch
stormslider - visually pleasing lock and more importantly 1000x quicker lock than the standard
weatherbug - excellent weather application

useful but not necessary:
amazon.com - self-explanatory (has feature with which you can take a picture of a object and get price comparisons from within the site)
bolt - very good alternate browser, but still in beta testing
captureit - captures whatever image your bb currently is showing, useful if planning on posting those images on forums such as this
mobile checkbook - use to keep track of my checking, savings, cc's (extremely simple interface, nothing fancy, but helps keep checkbook balanced without the writing)
qik - allows user to upload videos taken online (in alpha testing)
slacker - online streaming radio with the option to 'cache' it to your memory in order to listen to stations even without reception
stoptilt - allows you to disable autorotation in programs you wish to keep in a certain orientation
