I do alot of boating with in cell range and was wondering if it
    is worth it?

I have some links to radar and weather I usually use..but wasn't sure if I should get this...

    Does it eat up battery?

If you don't have it anymore what links or app did you go to?

    Appreciate the advice.

    Thx

I personally love BerryWeather. I find it much more convenient to use than going to the Web every time I need weather info. I don't believe it uses much battery, as I have a discharge rate usually less than 1% per hour per MeterBerry. I know their latest iteration of the BerryWeather featured the program actually fully closing on exit as opposed to running in the background. I think this was purely a battery conservation move. All in all, a great program. I've tried some of the others but always come back to BerryWeather.

Berryweather is very light on the battery. It doesn't even run in the background

I tried it once about a year ago on my old Curve 8330. Seems like I found out that it wouldn't work with the GPS on that phone, even thought they advertised it as using the GPS, so I reviewed it with a big fat NOT RECOMMENDED and deleted it. After I paid for it, of course.

8330 is a CDMA curve. If you had Verizon of course the GPS wouldn't have worked. Verizon only opened up GPS to BBMaps. (I am on wap and can't see your carrier.)

I love BerryWeather. I even have it update every 15 minutes.

We used BerryWeather on a beach vacation earlier this year. Watched the radar to know when to get indoors and let the storm pass by. We stayed high and dry while others were caught in a terrible storm. Also used a short time ago to get UK weather for a traveling family member.

This is a must have app IMHO. Love the service for the price.

Berry Weather's radar maps work WONDERFULLY!!!!!
I use the radar all the time! I'm an avid baseball fan and I like to watch the radar to determine whether I'll go to the game or have to sit through another rain delay...lol

    Well worth the money!

Whoever say it wasn't worth it, didn't know how to use it, IMHO.
    5 Star app!!!

Was that just on the 8330? Because I've had the storm 2 and now the 9650 and the gps has worked any time I've tried to use It in any app.

Berryweather is well worth the money, hands down! If you watch in the CB store, sometimes they have it half price but even if you pay full price, it is worth every penny and then some!!

The wife has it on her Curve 8330m and it works flawlessly, maybe you had a bad install.

Berryweather is a great app and worth every penny in my opinion. The latest version does close when you exit. It's easy on the battery.

Blackberrys pre-Storm can have GPS unlocked for BBMaps.

You can also get BeWeather Free from App World and see how you like it. The free version doesn't have radar, though, so it may not suit your needs. Maybe try the three-day trial? So far, I'm pretty satisfied with just the free version so far until a sale pops up. However, that being said, if I had the money, I would gladly pay full price, because BerryWeather seems to be a really great application.

Spend most of my free time on my boat so I know what you mean. Like to be outside of the boat when it's nice and in the boat when it's not so nice.

BerryWeather is an awesome app. The best of all blackberry weather apps in my opinion. Like Unity said, try the 3 day trial and you will fall in love with it!

berry weather is worth it. I guess if anything it goes on sale pretty often and grab it for a sale price. The radar is super awesome battery life isn't effected if u set the refresh time to something reasonable. i've let it run every 15 and it killed the battery (did this on purpose to see how it went). I have it go about every 45 minutes and it keeps me updated pretty much

BerryWeather is the only weather app I've stuck with and love it. The Radar is quick to load and has saved me from getting caught in a storm quite a few times. Just last week we were at a local amusement park when I noticed some dark clouds moving in. I pulled up the radar on BerryWeather and saw that we were about to get hit hard. I got the family together and out to the car just as the first raindrops fell. It was a good thing too, because this storm had 50mph wind that knocked out power to a good portion of the area. If I didn't have BeWeather radar I would have been stuck in the park huddled under some kind of cover and been stuck in the masses as they tried to leave. I know this is not as dangerous as being out on the water when a storm like this comes up but hopefully you'll be able to get to cover before this happens.

What are you doing or not doing in trying to get it working? What area do you live in?

I've got about 10 different radars including for local and European locales and I've got a noaa weather radio station and even a video that plays.

I'll say it again: take advantage of the trial. Do it on one of your boating ventures, see how it runs. That'll tell you whether or not it'll work for you without spending the money ahead of time.

If you are hesitant because of the $9.99 price wait for a little while and usually it will be offered half off here and there.

I first used BerryWeather on my 8330 and currently use it on my 9650. It is an excellent weather app. I added Accuweather's radar to my Home weather location on BW.

I also like the BerryWeather temperature appearing in the notifications area on the home screen.

I have the free version of Weatherbug on my 9650, too. Between BerryWeather and Weatherbug, I get a complete weather picture.

Over spring break, my extended family and I went to Disneyworld at Orlando. First day out, I grabbed my golf umbrella out of the car and they all laughed at me. BerryWeather indicated a massive rainstorm approaching, despite the sunny sky overhead. Consequently, I was the ONLY mostly dry member of the family that day. What a daylong downpour! And I was ready for it.

BerryWeather is well worth even the full price. I'm near the Chesapeake Bay and you don't want to be caught in dangerous weather on the water!

BerryWeather also allows you to select the advisories most important to you. Small Craft warnings are included.

Here is another alternative using your browser. (I use Bolt.) Go to Welcome to Weather Underground : Weather Underground. Click on the mobile icon in the upper right corner, input your location, and save it as a favorite. Wunderground gives accurate data with frequent updates. It also has an excellent radar. I believe BerryWeather gets some of their information from Wunderground.

Thx everyone....I really appreciate all the time & answers you have given me....I have the Trial installed and it looks like a keeper.

Question, Looks like 1 radar only is from BW for my locale.....am I correct in saying this?

I can add others.... for each locale I have in there?
