I saw this roaming around the forums. How to store Apps on the SD Card.
It was in the 8800 Section. My question is this possible on the Storm ?
thanks.

Sure is! I use Aerize Card loader and I like it very much. IMO it's worth the $10
It allows you to store the apps on your card. Then when you want to use an app, you can load it (meaning put it on your phone to run and use).
You can unload or delete the app at anytime to free up space. The .cod files are still on your memory card until the next time you want to use that app. - then you just load it again.
Just keep in mind you are only storing the installer files on the SD card. You need to install to the Storm to run the app, then uninstall. You are not actually running the app off the SD card.
Oh right, i thought you could of used this to install apps.
Thanks guys :)
curious mind wants to know, what does this Aerize Card Loader add ? i downloaded most apps with the Bing Bang OTA downloader and put them organized in folders on my sd card and can in- and un-install at any time.
X2 plz

but isn't this pointless since you can just d/l the jar/jad file and put it on your card? (using explore in media folder to access it)
Is it that simple? Seems like RIM went out of their way to forbid it:
Electronista | BlackBerry App World forces $3 minimum priceAdditionally, RIM specifically forbids downloading or running apps from a BlackBerry's microSD card slot and instead reserves them for internal memory. The restriction ostensibly prevents piracy but also limits the number and size of apps; the most internal storage on a BlackBerry is the Bold's 1GB of flash memory. It also complicates the ability to transfer apps to multiple phones.
I think what might be needed is a petition. There are a lot of users that want this capability, I mean I already blew through 8 or 9 threads all asking a variant of this question. And it really should be a simple thing.
Not all of us are corporate users, some of us just like the added functionality BB brings to the smart-phone/pda market.
At anyrate, I relevant thread to pose the petition on:
BlackBerry Support Community Forums - A question about smartphone future OS release and SD cards..... - Product Management: The BlackBerry Application Platform - BlackBerry Support Community Forums
How could this be? We pay so much money for these phones/"smart" devices, yet we are limited to the amount of applications we can use on the phone. If the phone comes with a 8 or 16g memory card where the harm in allowing us to store data or apps on it. I know personally I will probably never use all of the space on the memory card, so what else am I to do with it?
Long story short: How do we up the limit of memory on App world (if we can) or directions on how to store apps to my phone?
Thanks!
I heard the new Os for the storm when it comes out will support putting apps on your sd card.

can you explain more on how you are using "d/l" for the jar/jad files?
using a data cable and file explorer on pc and showing hidden and op files still cant find apps or much else for that matter.
I think the new Os for the storm is going to support saving apps on media card that's the 5.0 release.
