For a Son ID you may want facial recognition software or DNA testing.

For Song ID you can get Verizon's here:
V Cast Song Id

Shazaam is also mentioned, but I haven't found it for the Storm (not that I've tired, Verizon's works fine for me).

Just for anyone else who may be reading, Verizon's Song ID software sometimes gets stuck on "Listening" (it should automatically stop listening and analyze the song). If this happens, from the main Blackberry screen try Options --> Security Options --> Application Permissions --> songid

Click the Blackberry/Menu button and select Edit Permissions. Set all three to "Allow" and save the settings. Not sure why Verizon doesn't change this on installation. Hope this helps!

My son had an Verizon envy phone that would id songs...I loved it, was almost ready to trade in my BB...JK.

Been a while since I was looking for song id, I gave up some time ago.

I can't seem to find anything for my Sprint BB. If I remember correctly, Shazam charges for each id.

You are half right. There are two versions of Shazam (complimentary and paid). The complimentary is free and will only allow 5 tags a month. The paid version is a one-time fee of $4.99 and will allow unlimited tags. For more information, there is a comparison of the two version on the shazam website.

i have shazam, but i tried tagging non-english songs (chinese to be exact) and it picked it up (right tag too)

It's the same interpretation engine. Don't forget that songid is powered by shazam so anything songid can do, shazam can do just as good and/or even better.
