    So heres what happened...

I pulled out my battery for a reboot, and when my phone turns back on, my texting app is gone. It's usually right next to the "Messages" app, and the "Contacts" app on the main display/menu.

Any idea how to get it back? I know people are texting me as well, because I have the little new message on the top of my screen.

NOTE: when i turn my phone on, i get this message "Uncaught exception: index 8 >= 8"

Probably a silly question but we'll start with the most obvious thing, did you check to make sure it didn't somehow end up accidently hidden?

Try doing another battery pull to refresh it. That seems to have worked for some people from a quick search I did.

Did you install anything new lately? Or maybe upgraded your OS?

So you can't open the main Messages folder, press menu/compose sms?

Go in to the Messages App, press BB, go to Settings, and make sure you are set for Seperate Mailbox & SMS/MMS

    Wipe and reinstall......

When all else fails start over from scratch.

Sounds like I could be a theme issue too. Look into that.

Blackberry Curver 8530, Verizon Wireless, and I assume the most up-to-date OS, not sure how to check that.

Call your carrier and have them push the service books to you. They may have been pushing updates to you at the time you battery pulled. Keep us posted on the progress.
