    Nov 21, 2008 v1.0 is now released.

SMSPic lets you read incoming sms messages with optional picture id of the sender. You can reply, quick reply or call the sender directly from SMSpic without running the Messages application. Area code name is also shown for North America users.

Not until RIM fixes the bug. The have admitted that there was a bug. They also said they have fixed the problem but will have test when they release the new ROM.

    1.1 beta is now available

    www.toysoft.ca/beta/SMSPic.jad

    changes
    ---------

    - compatible with the new Storm
    - modified the sender number matching. if the phone number doesnt match then smsPic will match the first part of the number and not found then match the last part. this is useful for sites like Yahoo will sends using different sender number but the first few digits are the same.
-modified the sms display header. looks better with bigger fonts now

Any way to get this program to delete the message from the Storm's message center? I hate having to go into my messages to delete sms after i already replied and read an incoming sms.

Not possible. RIM doesn't allow 3rd party apps to access the SMS inbox.

Is this app compatible with the Nextel 350i? Application pops up, but none of the buttons work.

i think the problem is with invalid character in the msg.
is the text msg all text?

Yeah, the text messages were normal all text. I removed the app and it went back to behaving normally. It's a drag, I really thought the app was nifty!!

Why is the setup so difficult? I have photos in all of the contacts in my address book with whom I exchange text messages. Wouldn't it be nice if the ToySoft software had a default setting of "use contact photo" rather than making us keep an additional copy of the photo on the phone so we could manually set the contact photo?

This is an interesting concept, and overall a great idea, but the implementation and usability functionality need some work.
