Shopping List Application Information
Hey guys,
As some of you already know, I'm working on a new shopping list application for the BlackBerry. I'm basically here to say that development has been coming along quite nicely, and I've decided on some pricing and tier information, for those who are interested.
I was originally going to do a pretty full-featured application, with many interesting features which aren't actually needed, but after talking to the user "howarmat", he made me come to the conclusion that some people simply want a shopping list application that is quick, easy, and painless.
That being said, within the next few days, I plan on releasing Shopping List Lite (Name pending). Shopping List Lite is going to be available on most handsets, including the Storm, the Bold, the Tour, both the older/newer curves, and the Pearl/Pearl Flip. The price point for the application is going to be $0.99, and will be a simple grocery list designed with the user in mind. Users will be able to input the name of an item, select one of my custom icons for the item, and then add it to the list. In addition, users will be able to save and load lists as needed, as well as open them in the custom "Viewer" screen, which is essentially a view of the list in which items can be selected and checked off as the user picks them up at the store.
After the release of the Lite edition, I will continue working on Shopping List and adding "premium" features, which a small subset of Lite users will probably enjoy. Shopping List Premium will be available for $2.99 for NEW users, with an upgrade option available at $1.99 for Lite users.
I'm also going to try and offer an upgrade deal to early-adopters, which would allow the first 100 (may be more, may be less) users to upgrade for $0.99, but this may or may not be possible.
Finally, if anyone has any simple feature requests that they would like to make, please do so in this thread. Depending on the depth of the feature, I will either add it in to the Lite edition of the app or the Premium edition, depending on the resources that are needed to develop it.
Thanks for your time, and I hope that some of you will pick up this app when it's released, and for those who do: I REALLY hope this app is useful. I've designed it not only to distribute to users like you, but also to make my life easier when shopping for groceries. I hope you all feel the same way.
Attached is an earlier shot of the "Viewer" screen. At the moment, much has changed, but this is just a sample of what you can expect when you're checking items off your list at the store.
