I know I can select data to off when roaming.

Now what if I only want to give BlackBerry messenger the permission to use data when roaming, is that possible?

Sure, edit the permissions for all other applications to Deny access to Internet.

Time or Money? The choice is up to you of course.

I have timed myself, I can enable my firewall in less then 15 seconds.

In that same 15 seconds, I can burn through several hundred Kb of data. International use at $60 Mb means saving $$$.

You're totally right! by 'firewall' you mean unauthorizing those apps of using data?

Yes, just a matter of a couple of clicks and only BlackBerry Messenger will get through.

Options / Security Options. Deselect all but PIN messages.

My carrier uses a 1 Kb granularity for International use. That means ever PIN message will use 1 Kb, even the LOL's.
