I have a very important question that I need answered. I am going to be purchasing a new BlackBerry phone. I am hoping to save all the application customizations and settings I have on my current BlackBerry. I understand I can use the Desktop Manager to save the applications themselves, which I have done, but does that process actually save the customizations and settings within the apps as well? For instance, I have Vlingo on my phone right now. If I switch over to a new phone, will I have to customize Vlingo again, such as changing the options to my desired settings? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly, no. With a new device comes a new PIN and and you'll need to do a PIN transfer to re-download your apps, even if it's the same model. DM will only backup the settings, not apps. I can't guarantee the settings will go back on after a device transfer as I myself haven't done that nor have read that anyone else has, so if anyone has hopefully they'll chime I .
