Shake feature is cool but when I enable it I can't go into a submenu.....QL disappears and appears to hang in the background.

So you are clicking on a submenu that's all? what if you click on normal items?

I'm noticing now that when I attempt to launch an SMS message to a specific contact number rather than the cursor be in the message box, the cursor appears in the box to input another contact number......seems to have started when I made the jump to 7.1 on my 9930......any input or feedback on the matter?

This is common no matter how you launch SMS. It's the way the OS is and not Quicklaunch.
