im back. eating lunch now. :(
What i miss?
QuickLaunch 4.0 does not work on my BlackBerry Bold 9900. I have since read the reviews of QuickLaunch 4.0 by a lot of other Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 owners and I see they have the same problem I have. For BB owners with models that it does work for, it is obviously a dream. For 9900 and 9810 owners it is a nightmare. When I expressed my frustration to Nikkisoft, I was summarily dismissed. He felt I was being rude.
I have regretfully deleted QuickLaunch. Maybe I will recheck it a year from now, but I shall read the reviews more carefully before I install it again.
who led you to believe it would work on os6?
Information on AppWorld didn't say it is only for OS7. Also, when we purchase the app using an OS6 phone, AppWorld allow the purchase. Usually if a particular app is not supported for the device, AppWorld will refuse to install and state that the app is not compatible with the device.
In this case, AppWorld install QL v3 to our OS6 phone instead. We thought we are buying v4 but end up with v3 which is not even working on our phone.
The app description says os 7 only. first sentence. it's also categorized as an os 7 device only app so it should only appear on phone with os 7.
FYI, I had the secure api bug on .261 and upgraded to Sprint 7.1.0.163 tonight and QL 4.0 works now. Now to play with my settings :)
I still don't see where it saids "OS7 only". Anyway, that's not important for us at this point. We just need some help or assurance from you that the problem will be addressed.
The fact that a bunch of us got it installed on our OS6 device from AppWorld means either the supported devices setting are not setup correctly, or it is not working the way it suppose to work. Also, why AppWorld install v3 to our phone when we meant to buy the new v4? Really strange.
Take a look at this link. what does it say in the 1st sentence? Buy QuickLaunch - Download QuickLaunch - Buy Apps from BlackBerry App World
go back and reread this thread. you'll find assurance in there. multiple times.
Perhaps its just me but I'm having issues with submenus. Every time I try to pick a submenu from the main menu it seems to hang the application. The only way for me to fix it is to reboot the device. I installed 4.0 over top of 3.9 and thought that perhaps it was due to the previous settings so I deleted the application and reinstalled it. Same thing when I started fresh.
I'm running 540 on a 9860. I'm not sure if I was having the same problem with 3.9 as I didn't test the submenus.
Thanks for your help. Patience is a virtue! It amazes me how upset people get over a couple of dollars!

that's a bug. been addressed. shake detection + folder = crash
fix in next version
Hi Elite,
this did worked and app has accepted the key now, but i dont know for how long, lets wait and see.
everything is Good. but can you please tell me what about the camera regulation? i mean how well the camera works during low light? i know phone cameras don't work so well so let me know about it.
thanks
Still none of the solutions works for me.
Clearing the cache does not work for me. I tried this a few times yesterday and again today. When appworld refreshes I get the same code as before and the same message of invalid license. I received App World's Purchase Receipt but never the auto generated e-mail from Nikkisoft. I believe some of just got billed but the record of purchased never reached nikkisoft servers
I emailed CheetahAce and he resolved this invalid license issue for me at his end in 10 minutes. Outstanding service bearing in mind how many emails he is currently handling.
You created an account on CB to make this post?
See you in a year!
I believe there was some confusion (including for me) for those who saw the Blog post about V4 on CB and then clicked the link to AW. It's true that the first sentence on AW says Version 4 for OS 7.0 Devices, other information says required device software 4.2 or higher and under supported devices, just about every BB model is listed. Also, the blog post does not say it's for OS 7 only.
Once I found this thread, it was clear that the V4 is for OS 7 only.
I blame CB for omitting critical information and AW for inaccurate information.
Nevermind found the email for Cheetah, lets see if he fixes my activation license problems...
I know you guys will probably think I'm a troll for ranting but Nikkisoft are thieves and jerks!
I bought this app on the app world yesterday and I couldn't open it because of a module error so I e-mailed them and I got a snarky e-mail back and refused me service! We're still going back and forth and they just keep mocking my frustrations.
I'm really not sure what to do here...I just want them to learn that they can't treat customers this way. I know RIM is in no shape to turn away developers right now, but they can't have crooks in the appworld like this. There has to be some kind of responsibility or stake because it seems like they don't care as soon as they receive our money!
Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
If he didn't care he would not respond here or to the hundreds, maybe thousands, of emails he has received over the last day or so and to call him a crook sounds more like frustration then you really believing that.
Its the me first generation talking there. I'm waiting for a fix, but there are much more important issues in life to worry about...lol. PS I know this will be fixed eventually :D
Just reinstalled QL version 4.0 from AppWorld and "lo and behold" the activation worked.
Cheetah's tennis and sandwich break seems to be the fix for the problem. :D
was it in your list of apps or did you have to do a search again?
worked temporarily for me, and then invalid licence came back up.
why does it keep checking for licence code, once should be enough!..this is utter crap
