I have been experimenting with Neoreader:

    NeoReader: Blackberry

    2. What kind of codes can I read with NeoReader?

Data Matrix, QR code, Aztec code, EAN, UPC and Code 128 can be read easily and promptly by the NeoReader mobile application.

How did you get it to work with the 8220? They say it is not supported. I installed the 8100 version and all it does is lock up my phone. I have to pull the battery to get it back. Any ideas??

Opps, I missed that, an 8220.

I don't understand why it does not work on an 8220, the camera hardware is identical to the Pearl and I would expect the software too.

I agree, it should work, but it doesn't. It is crap. I can't seem to find one anywhere. I am sure it will surface somewhere. Thanks for your help!

What would one use this program for? I looked at the site and read about it, but what would be a realistic situation one would use this for?

Blackberry Messenger (BBM) can read the codes and open the web site for you. Open BBM and then click "Scan a Group Barcode". When it is in focus, it will prompt you if you would like it to open the site. So far this is the best QR Barcode reader I have used, and it is most likely already on your phone!

for scanning UPC codes, I use edocrab (barcode spelled backwards). It does a decent job, but is beta and could use some updating.

    Best of luck!

Yeah, the camera scans a QR code fine with my Torch, beeps once, then nothing happens. I've tried a half-dozen or more codes on the net. What am I missing here?
