Hi, I'm new to the forum and recently got a Blackberry 8830 WE. I've installed Windows Live Messenger on it but I can't communicate with any of my contacts. They are listed as "offline" even when they're not. They have no trouble seeing me when I'm online, and if they send me a message I can't respond since offline messaging doesn't work on the Blackberry version.

My carrier is Verizon, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

And if there are any free programs that encompass Windows Live Messenger, that would be great too.

I just received an email the said they released a new version of Windows Messenger for mobile phones. I would suggest you delete your current version then try downloading the new one.

What about using a messenger like JiveTalk which lets you use MSN Messenger? That works for me. I have not tried MSN/Windows Live Messenger on it's own.
