ok, so i downloaded poynt for my 8330, and everything seemed well except it can't find my gps location for some reason. everytime i choose to find a theatre close to me it says my gps location hasn't been found yet and it's been doing that for a while. is there anything i could do? i already deleted it and downloaded it again and that didn't work i dunno

I'm not able to get the GPS on the app to work either.
I'm debating wether or not I should delete the app. I'm loosing quite a bit of memory each day. I do a reset in order to gain my memory back, but I end up loosing over 15MB half way through the day. I'm not sure what's the cause, but this was the last app I installed on my device.

The Poynt app is unable to use GPS on most 8330s out there.

Grab a Freedom Keychain from CB.

I just got my first Blackberry and got Poynt. I'm having the same issue with the GPS. I'm not trying to use it for directions, just to look up a movie where I am at the time. Any updates since the last post (re: compatibility w/ the Curve 8330) help would be appreciated, thanks!

Go to "Menu", "Options", "Advanced Options", "GPS", press the Menu button, and choose "Refresh GPS"

I could be mistaken, but doesn't Verizon block GPS usage outside of their own app? I'm with Bell Mobility on an 8330, and Poynt works great.

It's never worked for me and I suspected it's cause VZW locked out the GPS except for using BBMaps and VZNav. The only way that Poynt works for me is to put in like my street address and save it to a "Search Location". And another thing that I've noticed with Poynt, is that you cannot be specific. I've tried to find like a "WalMart" on XYZ Street, it won't show. However, if I just search "WalMart" it does.

It works good for me and also if you know where you are you can type in your zip or city and just do it that way

I have it on my Sprint 8330 and the gps works great. I'm using google map as my default map after deleting the BB map. But I eventually added the BB map yet using the google with accurate gps location.
