I've just upgraded to Poynt 1.7.0.47 on my Rogers 3G 9100 5.0.0.748 and I no longer have GPS location? I have all permissions set to allow, rebooted and had the battery pulled. Still the only location I have access to is cell tower, which isn't even accurate. I know by now which tower I'm using when I'm at home.
I've also noticed that Poynt's home screen although still has a display of the weather no longer differentiates between night & day.
I upgraded on my Sprint Style and I still have GPS and new event feature. Seems to be showing my present conditions and a bright sunny sky. Won't know about night conditions until later. Sorry you're having a problem.

EDIT - Sun went down and Poynt shows a night sky. Maybe a delete, battery pull and reinstall? I do know that after this install Poynt repeatedly asked me for different permissions to be allowed. Never been like that before. Hope u get it worked out.

I have the newest Poynt on my 8530, and everything is working okay...does any of your gps work? I.E, pull up google maps or BBMaps and see if it gets you the right location? Maybe try a *228?
Trapster and bbmaps GPS work fine. I was planning on a uninstall/reinstall after the uninstall I stopped leaking memory and no longer have to charge everyday. It's to bad because Poynt was my favorite and most used app. I'll try a reinstall again soon to see what happens.
The development team was recently made aware of an error with Poynt's GPS function for users running OS 5.0 and version 1.7.0.47.
They are currently working on a fix for this issue and we hope to have a new version in place very shortly.
We will contact you when an updated version of the app is available for download. We apologize for any inconvenience.
