    I know this has been discussed before but from whta I understood VZW locks out all free 3rd party gps utilizing apps.
    Is that still the case?

    Just downloaded Poynt and its telling me my GPS is off...

    I works fine on my 9930 on VZW. Make sure your location is set to on. Go to device options to check. Also, try a battery pull.

    VZW has not crippled the GPS on any devices newer than the 8330.

    Have been using Poynt successfully for years on my Storm, Storm 2, and Torch all on Verizon. Google Maps GPS was disabled on the 9530 in the early days but nothing since then I'm aware of.

    My bad-turning the GPS on (which for some reason was off) didnt take until I did a battery pull.
