    Your downsampling from digital to analog. Check the quality of the cable connected to the cassette and clean the heads of the player. Thats about all you can do. Aside from installing a deck with a aux plug, or wiring one to the back of the radio.

    But just wondering, does it sound fine when you play mp3s the same way? Or is pandora the only thing giving you those high frequencies?

    We use the same set up our car and it sounds just fine. The only thing I do notice is on my wife's 9700, at times, the headphone jack will cause some noises. The 3.5mm adapter will have to be rotated in the 9700's jack.
