So I deleted an application using DM and it suggested I update the phone so I did...Well the application got deleted but the phone LAGS so much...like if the screen goes black (from not using it) and i press a button to look at the time or something it literally takes 5 seconds to light up or if I want to dial or text the same thing happens, it takes so much longer to load things....How can I fix this? I also noticed the battery is dying a whole lot faster--it's not even a year old yet!

How about going to Options, Memory, BB button, repair memory, Device memory?

Hmm, I'm familiar with your phone, I have a bold, so could be way different, have you done a search to see if there's anything that comes up?

    (Repair memory isn't an option)

I would suggest reloading your OS, or you can also upgrade to the latest oficial OS

Options -> Security -> Clean Memory

    Then do a battery pull.

If that doesnt work I'd recommend a reformat to factory install. which would delete apps and address book so make a backup before doing so.

I'll check in later to see if you need a walk through just in case

Is it good to have the phone auto-clear memory?

It does help but it doesnt free up as much memory as doing a battery pull.

doing "hard" resets all apps are closed and all cache is erased. cleaning memory clears the cache but apps just keep spitting out data to be stored.

if you have your phone in the holster alot you will almost never have lagging with memory cleaner on auto

no standby is like putting ur computer to sleep mode. it temporarily disables everything but all the apps are still running in the background

this memory clean won't delete my contacts or anything right?

No it won't, it mainly cleans memory stores and such, your contacts and messages will not be affected.

Hmm, sometimes I will delete an app via device and the menus will lag--i just batter pull, and everything goes back to normal. That's strange though.. I would try reloading the os... :/
