Am I going nuts or something? I have tried several pattern lock and slide lock apps, and although I have only installed the free (or lite) versions, they work for a while, then start getting buggy and I have to do battery pulls regularly to get the phone working again.

Is this a result of the "free" versions, or what? I wouldn't mind paying the 3 or 4 bucks for an app that is going to work properly all the time, but I can't figure out what the cause is!

Having said that, my gf is using a free version of Patternlock, and she has little or no issues.

Maybe I'm getting conflicting apps or have conflicting settings....I just don't know at this point.

Anyone having this issue, or can offer some advice?

    Thanks in advance.

    I have the 9810.

I'm using PatterLock and I have no problems. I paid for it

I set my password to 1 hour and PatternLock to 15 minutes.

You probably have an app conflict. Do any apps automatically check the web for info (Ex. weather)...set them to manual

Yeah, I'm gonna have to start checking the other apps...not that I have a ton of them, mind you.

I lock mine immediately, so that I can put it in my holster or pocket without accidentally activating any apps, etc...

The fact that it's more than just one screen lock app messing up leads me to believe there's a conflict somewhere.

    Thanks.

I use the BlackBerry leather pouch for my 9810.

As soon as I put it in it shuts-down the screen. I never have a problem with starting apps.
When I pull the phone out the screen awakens

The only thing that works while it's in the pouch is the start/stop button for the media player

I have used a few and they have all been pretty good. No major problems.

I have stuck with pattern lock as it seems to be the best.

    What OS are you using?

Sent from somewhere other than my PC.

I've used PatternLock on my 9800 and 9810. No problems when I was using the 9800 and no problems with 7.0 on the 9810. Every once in awhile, I've noticed what seemed like a hang. A couple of taps on the button to the right of the trackpad frees it and I can do the pattern.

    I'm on the latest OS7 .

I notice this problem after a few days or a week when the "trial" period expires, even though the "lite" version of these apps don't specify that they are trial apps. I get the feeling that it's done on purpose to force us to purchase the app.
