Please help! what do I need to do?
I may be being thick here (a distinct possibility...), but I cannot obtain the software for my Vodafone (UK) Storm from the Pandora website; if I try to log on, I get a message saying 'Pandora does not support your device'. Neither can I enter my mobile number to get a link by e-mail - the data entry boxes do not take UK numbers! Can anyone advise?
Further to my earlier post, I think I've just found my answer! It would appear to have nothing to do with my phone, and everything to do with my carrier.
Does anyone know of a Storm compatible internet radio that we can use in the UK?
For the heck of it I redownloaded slacker. I have to say the sound quality is a lot better then pandora. Seems to be because pandora is mono rather than slacker in stereo. There any plans to update this? I'm a big fan of pandora cause of baterry life and much higher app mem. Sucks for quality tho. Sorry if this has been covered already. On bb and did feel like viewin all pages ;)

I like Pandora, and it sounds good playing in my burb, but I have two things that are bothering me.
The first being that everytime I receive and email, sms, etc, whatever track that is playing restarts from the begining. Secondly, each session that I start with Pandora, I only get to hear seven tracks. Pandora isn't automatically going to the next track after the end of a song, I have to hit the next button.
I wouldn't mind being able to hit the little x to close the advertisment either.

I did yesterdasy and have not received a reply.

MarcPandora,
This may have already been covered, but does Pandora on the Storm allow caching? I was just going to try Slacker and was excited to see the Pandora icon in the App store (been using Pandora on my desktop for a while). I'm curious to know if Pandora does or will be allowing music to cache so if I'm out of coverage (ie on a motorcycle), I can still listen to cached music.
Thanks!
Finally got it working. Sweeet App. Thanks for the help guys.
Our license is different than Slacker, and only allows us to stream audio - no physical storage allowed. That said, we do buffer as much of the current song as possible in memory and we do start to pre-load the next song when the current song is getting near the end. So if you don't hit the skip or thumb-down buttons, there should be no gap between songs. However, if you go out of service, the music will stop once the song ends.
If I read correctly earlier, it does not allow for a cache due to licensing agreements.
Thanks! And I think I read earlier where Slacker feeds in stereo vs Pandora in Mono? That sound right? I'm a newbie with these 2 apps and figured I'd get all the information before I decide which one to commit my storm's memory to. :D
Try em Both - I was a Slacker Guy - really liking Pandora - if they get stereo - I'll probably keep both. I wish the Storm had more memory for apps. .
After taking advice from everyone else, I decided to keep both. Slacker is good If you want to listen to a genre of songs like top 40 or comedy. I like Pandora when I'm going to listen to music relating to an artist. From what I know, the memory usage is not that much so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Good idea...I haven't run Slacker yet but will test them both out and so long as I don't kill the battery/memory, might as well have both. Thanks.
I am loving that Pandora is available for the storm. Listened to it all day when it came out, but haven't since. I am stuck listening to my iPod all day because the lowest volume setting is still too loud for me. Is there any way to decrease the volume a little bit more without it muting?
Thanks, and loving the app.
Started off with Slacker for a little over 2months. Rarely used it.
Then I downloaded IHeart Radio about 3 weeks ago and fell in love with it!
I was so in love with IHeart Radio I was seriously not going to give Pandora a try. IM SO HAPPY I GAVE IT A DOWNLOAD LASTNIGHT :D I ended up deleting IHeart Radio, and I'm head over heels for Pandora. haha. This is by far, THE best music app out there. Bar none.
It's cool to just type in a name and get nonstop music from that artist and others who's music runs along the same lines of his or her artistry. Typed in Lupe Fiasco lastnight...got some Lupe...got some Kanye...got some Common...got some Talib. JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKIN FOR. Ich bin zat! (German for "I'm satisfied" :D-My 3 week German host mom from last summer would be so proud. lol)
I was loving slacker as well, simply because it was good for genres and such. I used to love pandora on the pc so I now use both.. the memory useage isnt a big deal.
I've got both Slacker and Pandora on my phone. I find that they're both great, but I like the sound quality from Slacker better mainly because it is stereo and Pandora is mono. Caching stations and the ability to bring up lyrics or album information or Artist bio are only in Slacker. You can give a thumbs up or down on a song in Pandora, but in Slacker you can make it a favorite or ban it or ban the group.
I think that Pandora's music library is a bit larger than Slacker's, but I can't be sure about that. It is nice to have two quality apps for the Storm. Thank you Slacker and Pandora!
Some people, when starting Pandora, are getting the following error message:
"Could not connect to Pandora. Please ensure you have sufficient network coverage and try again."
If this is the case, and you are on a GSM network (T-Mobile, AT&T) then you may be able to fix it by exiting Pandora and setting the APN for your device.
You can do this by going to Options -> Advanced Options -> TCP and enter an APN:
For AT&T, Enter:
APN: WAP.CINGULAR
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
For T-Mobile, Enter:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
or
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Username: <leave blank>
Password: <leave blank>
NOTE: if you are on a CDMA network such as Verizon or Sprint you do not need to do this.
I realize this thread is about the Storm and most Storm users are on Verizon (and so doesn't apply to you), but this seems to be the thread that is most actively discussing Pandora, so I thought I'd post it here.
Marc @ Pandora
Hi Marc,
I specifically bought my BlackBerry 8900 so that I could use Pandora. I had a T-Mobile G1 before and got rid of it because there was no Pandora app for it. I thought that the sound quality would be like the iPhone I had before it (unlocked for use on T-Mobile), but it is not. On the iPhone I even have the "higher quality audio" setting turned off and it still sounds much better than on my BlackBerry. Please, please, please see if you guys can do something to improve the sound of Pandora on the BlackBerry. As it stands right now, it really is not nearly as good as on the iPhone app with the low sound quality setting.
thanks for finally releasing pandora to the storm.
Marc, as I stated when I pm'd you I tried ATT APN settings and without and I got the error message both times. Ill give it another shot but I dont know if it will work.
has anyone else had this problem? I tried to set the alarm clock. I could pick a time and everything, but when I clicked OK nothing would happen. Pandora has been the only recent change to my phone so I deleted it and then I could set the alarm again.

Long term lurker first time poster :p Entering the wap address into the adn worked for me. Otherwise I had the same problem. I am on a t-mobile 8320.
