this is a serious issue and to me it seems a conflict between OS version and facebook version

"Could not connect because a data service is not available. Please try
again later."

i have tried numerous fixes and none have worked only one is downgrade OS and application

any one know a hybrid that has this issue fixed please let me know

Do you have a BlackBerry Data plan?

If not, the only Facebook app you can use is 1.6. All other recent versions require access to RIM's servers, which require a BlackBerry Data Plan.

got the same error message yesterday but i was using already using v1.7 with no issues until i logged off and tried to log back on...still blaming my service provider and holding off pushing the panic button
