As others have commented here, I too am of the conclusion (now) that the browser functionality of the Flip, EVEN WITH A WIFI CONNECTION, is marginal, at best. As a matter of fact, I would classify at as pretty useless. I think BB MUST be able to do better than they have.
Pages take so long to load, it is pathetic. As mentioned here, some indicate the Opera Mini borwser may be a potential solution.
On the opera home page, the Pearl Flip is NOT listed specifically as an app it works for.
What version are you folks using, and how did you install it.
Sorry, not a very experienced BB user here.... trying to learn.

okie dokie....
Now, on the opera homepage, it recommends (for TMo --- which I see is your carrier as well) it wants one to change TCP settings (on the BB) to wap.tmobile.com, or whatever, from its current setting of epc.tmobile.com
What effect, if any, does this have on the other functionality of the phone?

Opera Mini does work on the 8220. I went to http://mini.opera.com in the BB browser and followed my nose to install Opera Mini 4.2. I didn't change my APN settings at all. Opera Mini works fine over both Wi-Fi and EDGE with APN set to epc.tmobile.com.
Anybody notice Landscape Mode in Bolt?! Holy... Fricking... Cow! Menu->Preferences->Landscape Orientation. POOF, I can now browse pages sideways at 320x240! To the best of my knowledge, Bolt is the first browser to do this, and I thank them.
Trackball scrolling rotates according to bolt orientation, but the keys for up/down/left/right do not. Text input is ala Opera, and is done in portrait mode.
