OK, so I downloaded the .zip package I need to install from the Opera Mini official website.

But the two files in the .zip package are of an unknown filetype to me. Which directories do they need to go in?

If someone could provide a step-by-step explanation, I would be forever in your debt!

Instead of doing it that way, try going to mini.opera.com using your device browser. You can install it from there.

Follow desktop Manager Installation in this link -

Lecture 9: How To Install and Manage Third Party Software Applications On Your BlackBerry | CrackBerry.com

Get the desktop software from here, I suggest the 4.6 blackberry desktop software.-

You need to have a USB cable.

Although the instructions link to are very clear, I second the recommendation to do an OTA install (by going to mini.opera.com). Far easier, IMO.
