Opera 5 runs pretty nicely on my Curve, but it allows sites to auto-redirect you to their WAP (mobile) sites - for example, cnn.com does this. Turning off "mobile view" does not help. Some research told me that some sites detect your device thru the "User Agent" (UA) identity and auto-reconfigure to better fit phones, pda's, etc.

You could turn this off in Opera 4.2 by typing in "opera:config" in the address field. This would bring up the configuration menu and you could uncheck "UAProf URL enabled." There is no such option in Opera 5 (that I can find, anyway!) Does anyone know how to turn off this horrible UA crap?

I guess no one knows. I think there's no way to avoid auto-directing mobile sites with Opera - so it's back to Bolt, which does it beautifully!

That's odd. I don't see that option in the config section. I'm using 4.2.1

i think bolt is better anyways.. just discovered it and i find it quicker and also easier to move on webpages. in opera takes forever to move cursor on the page.
