Hi,
Looking for a better browser and found that there is an Opera Mini 4 browser out there but when I got to the download link there isn't a bb8900 option? Does anyone know why or has Opera just not gotten around to making one for the 8900 yet?
Thanks
Ytee
Im using Opera Mini 4.2 on my 8900 now. I downloaded the 8300 Curve version and it works fine. I dont see what changes they would make to have a dedicated 8900 version
I prefer Rim's browser to Opera or Bolt. Bolt has way too many issues and Opera doesn't render a lot of pages I use very well because of the 8900's resolution.

Exactly the same reason

Opera ia far better than ANY browser if you know how to use it ...... Without this browser most of the sites I visit would be useless.....check out VWvortex.com on BB browser its useless.... Also Opera gives you the option to download images ... BB does not.

Another thing that bugs me with Opera is the fact that when you want to enter text, the browser takes you to an edit screen. While Opera might be a tad faster, the UI isn't as nice as Rim's browser IMO.

I agree that the UI is not as streamlined as it could be, but OperaMini is definitely more than a tad faster when loading graphic intense web pages. Would love to see OperaMini with the UI of the BBB, or the BBB with the speed of OperaMini.
That is not true. I tried running both browsers on my 8900 side by side and both browsers are able to open any site I throw at them (including the one you listed). Although Opera is a faster.

I think that attempting to use ANY web browser (BB, Opera Mini, Bolt, whatever) with a BlackBerry is a disappointing experience. I'm a BB fan and user, but the 'berry has a long way to go to catch up with the iPhone in this regard.....
Matter of opinion, and use. Try reading Cox webmail using Opera.
Actually you can send & recieve cox webmail with either the BB or Opera browser. They put up a beta page at (I can't post the link)
