Just got an 8900, have wifi setup and my browser is working fine. i downloaded facebook and app world on my blackberry, they downloaded fine but when i click on the app world, it says "Upgrade your service to a plan that includes browsing and discover a world..." and in facebook it wont let me sign in: "could not connect because a data service is not available...". if my wifi is working (and browser), why aren't these apps working??
Because they use your Mobile network access. The WiFI may or may not work. In your case "not", besides why would you get a blackberry without a data plan.
