I know this is stupid simple but I can't find an answer.

I have 2 apps that for what ever reason are not displaying new notifications in the notification window. I get a notification icon in the bar, but nothing in the drop down window when you click on that bar. The two apps are Yahoo Messenger and Ubersocial. Both of them give me the notification icon in the bar, but nothing is listed in the window when you click on the icon. Any thoughts?

Yahoo messenger I'm not sure about but ubersocial as a 3rd party app would not get access to the notification screen.
