    It looks like there are different approaches to electronic Bibles. The old school was to load entire texts into your device. I think YouVersion is an interesting approach, downloading text over the network as you need it. It doesn't work so well for me, since I rely on wifi for data -- no data plan -- and may not have net access at all times, but I can see its attractions.

    The Bible app that I use is of the old school variety: OliveTree (iPhone Bibles and Mobile Bible Study Tools for PDA and Smartphone - Olive Tree Bible Software). The reader app is free, as are the public domain translations that you can download from their site. You'd pay for the commercial, copyrighted translations.
