I now have the software running on my device. I will keep you updated as I get closer to user testing and or release.
The idea behind your app, sounds like one that could morph into a few other things for the basic consumer end of BlackBerry. Running apps from the memory cards for one. The option to save all Berry related data from apps to memory cards.

For those worried about limited memory a whole host of apps that can be swapped from card to memory and back o card again, would be a nice idea, even if only certain types of apps could save/run to/from to memory cards that would be a nice trade off as well, especially for games.

Anyway thanks for even trying to make a program that can save sms and or email to the memory card. Who knows what might come out of it from the non corporate users, as far as the type of apps and memory usage?

The point sir is not to back up e-mails and the other information you listed. It's to back up SMS txt messages. Personally I'm a pack rat I like to keep them all but being an avid txt messenger it uses a lot of space. I'm use to my envy which in a stroke of genius had a qwerty keyboard for txt messaging but memory for only 50 messages. So I'm use to giving up messages but I'd still rather not. I like to keep these things for evidence.

Edit: In case it wasn't clear I am excited for this app. I'll beta test if needed. Thank you for doing this.
I for one hope it does email and SMS, as both take up huge amounts of space on my BB. And I don't get my emails on my PC from certain accounts, they only go to my BB.

When sharing technical specs on projects, the emails can get large so media card backup would be nice.

it would be really awesome if this could automatically archive SMS messages to the media card after they reach a certain age that the user can specify (couple weeks? a month?)

OK Sorry everyone for the delay in updates my son was just born a few weeks back.

    Just an update....

Currently the software is running on my device but I have a few stability issues I will be fixing before I move forward. Give me to sunday to start this up again and then I will provide an update to this.

Hey CTLAdvance, appreciate what your doing!

Was wondering though, have you included a contact backup in the app as well? Thanks.

i hope this is still being worked on...

opening messages to and from my gf are getting extremely slow, but not for anyone else, im thinking its just because i text her so much. would be great if i could archive messages that are over a certain age to external memory i have a feeling that could bring up the speeds.

I just found this post today and I must say it has taken a while for all this effort and nothing so far. The Storm being released friday from VZW and the bold arleady released it will be losing people to actually need this app. I am looking forward to picking up a storm on Friday and with the 1Gb internal memory I am hoping there will no longer be an issue with freeing up internal memory. I have read every thread on this post and the funny thing is that not one has comment how the Iphone has there SMS messaging is more convient to read msgs from single users other than them all being in one folder.

Plenty of people have commented on how other OS's have better threaded sms. Palm did it WAY before the iPhone.

    Old news.

I have this program and love it. You can have threaded messages with several people. You can make their conversations different colors. You can also email the entire message to yourself so you can save it.

    It has a trial.

    It is only 9.99

I can't post a url. Go to handago and search for the program.

Um... I'm gonna be as serious as possible... Was this a real, legitimate, post? How could a person have read through "all the posts" and got that this had something to do with threaded texts??? Wtf man...

And dude, recheck your info with that 1GB internal memory... That's just like a 1GB SDcard, you only get 128MB on memory still... The rest is for "internal" media.

BACK TO THE TOPIC OF THE THREAD.........

CTLA, what's the news? I'm still looking to see this!
