i went to Bellshare site and downloaded what i thought was the new version 2.1.4.. but after deleting and reinstalling. it now says i have version 2.1.31. where do i get the 2.1.4 version???

I downloaded 2.1.40 from the CrackBerry App Store. But you should be able to get it directly from BellShare.

if i'm in the app, and i goto the "about" it says 2.1.31, but if i go into applications it says, 2.1.40. hhhhmmmmm??

It sounds like you got a bad download, or part of the old version didn't get deleted. Delete what you've got, reboot, and download it again.
