After I posted, I believe I saw a previos post where he decided all updates would be free.
Post #20 "sure, updates are free until version 2.0!"
Post #25 "Well actually I just thought about it: all updates will be free, there is no reason in charging someone for an update on such an app."
I'm thinking that developers (for MANY apps) are somewhat waiting to see the operating systems to settle down a bit. There are so many versions for different phones and each one's quirks probably react a bit differently with applications. I mean, there are some THEMES that are simple and tried and true, and they cause serious memory leaks with 4.5, let alone app issue that can pop up.
Well, 4.2 is pretty well gone soon and 4.5 hasn't come to a totally solid official release. I can't imagine why a developer would devote a "too" much time working around OS system bugs that will be worked out soon and then all that work would be for nothing.
Hopefully RIM gets things settled soon and developers will have a solid platform to work on.
I'm having a similar issue previously posted here but no one else has mentioned. I still have a 2-3 second delay before my ringtone kicks in. Any ideas?
I'm new to BlackBerries and downloading software and whatnot for them.
What happens after I purchase this app? What's the process for getting it to my phone? Do I use the desktop manager? I don't currently have an email account set up to my blackberry yet. Just wondering before I spend the $$.
Thanks!
After you buy an application (from your PC) you get a link where you can download the file. Either the zip file through which you need the Desktop Manager to install it on your device or you get a OTA-Link to install wirelessly.
A lot of software that you buy can be downloaded OTA (over the air). That means that you need a wireless connection with your BlackBerry (Internet access on your phone). Through this connection you can directly download the application to your phone.
About the update:
I am still working on it and trying to fix the problem I have with it. It is not yet completly working all the time. Some betatester have no problem with the app; some others do. That must still be fixed! I will stay on it!
