Good work so far. It made my storm brightness go up too max and its too bright.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
That is something I will have to fix once I get the signed keys from RIM. The reason the backlight gets bright is because the LED is inside the the same opening as the light sensor. When the LED is flashing a bright color, the light sensor thinks that it is bright around you and wants to make the display bright. When I get the key from RIM, I can give the user the option to set the display brightness as well as the other features I've mentioned. I'll do everything I can to make this app work for people but you can never please everyone. It never hurts to ask a question or make a suggestion though!

It's my bedtime so I'll just pick up on this tomorrow. Night y'all.

No the percent brightness does nothing. The flashlight functions like it should though I will probably use the always on trick with the video player flash. The purple is kinda purple so that should satisfy some. With the keys from RIM in the dimming of the blue should work wonders and open up the possibility for more color combos.

To those just coming up on this, the point is to develop this later to allow the user to set up specific alert colors. Right now this app only allows you to set LED to blink constantly. He is working towards getting more features but for now, just give feedback on what it does now. This will help clear up this thread to help out the developer.

    2. Which LED is blinking too quick?
    3. Are you asking for more time options?
    4. Sorry for 21 questions lol. I just want to try and make this app the best it can possibly be.
1/2. the status led. i have it set to red/blue and its a rapid blink for example redblue..not like red.......blue

I don't have too much time today bc of family things. I have noticed sometimes that the alternating colors act funny when you switch from a single one. Make sure you have the latest version (1.1.4) and if you still have problems press "Turn Off" then the alternating color you want. Let me know how that works for you. It should blink color 1 for 250ms, stay off for 1500ms, blink color 2 for 250ms, stay off for 1500ms. Also, is it possible that it is just blinking too quickly for you taste?

Note: I'm going to try and add the option for the user to select the time between blinks for alternating colors. It is just slightly different then regular ones and is taking more time.

EDIT: I'm also working on the defaults back to green after text and the brightness settings not working problems. The after text one might have to wait for the signed keys from RIM. I'll do my best to get it squared away quickly. After about 3:15 eastern I wont have a chance to work on it until at least 8:00 central. (gotta head back to college for class in the morning).

Is there any chance this could be ported over to the 8900 or would that be difficult?

I can try and get that for you. It wasn't overwritten but when I fixed the menu problem I added the other features at the same time. PM me and tell me exactly what you want on it and I'll see if I can do it when I get in this evening. (Long as it doesn't involve adding features, its alot easier to remove stuff then add it)

no clue? what software does the 8900 run? it seems like all i would have to do is change the API to match your software.

After downloading seems to only be for battery time remaining but I would love a [free] app to change the LED alert colors

I was looking for free apps like this. i'm a 'newbie' and the app is awesome. it would be cool to customize it to blink when certain things pop up i.e. sms, email etc. but all in all, very cool.

I updated the description last night. I'm working on making it still work after receiving a text or something. As I've said before, I can't make it work where you can set it for specific notifications until I get enough money to buy the signed keys from RIM.

Any news on making it work for the 8900 or does that need the signed keys from RIM? Thanks.

I see quite a few apps that turn the status LED to white to be used as a flashlight, but how about the camera flash LED? seems that would be brighter and maybe less complicated. Just a thought.
