I leave my UT running in the background all day to constantly retrieve new tweets every 20 mins. But when I turn my phone off at night and then turn it back on in the morning UT only retrieves tweets from the past 2-3 hours rather than the 8 or 9 hours that my phone was off for. How can I chage it so it fetchs ALL the tweets in my timeline?

No sure, I'm a SS person, but I'm sure someone here will know.

I moved the thread to 3rd Party Apps.

I haven't been able to get all the past over night Twitter updates either for several months now. I don't know why ...
My solution is to leave UT up & running all night while the BB is charging & just let it download all the tweets & catch up on the reading in morning.
Will this stop me from buying Ubertwitter when I get a new BB. No, because the solution is there for me & it works.
But I would still like an answer to this, anyway.

Thanks for the help guys. I don't think its possible unless I leave my phone on all night. Follow me on twitter! www.twitter.com/NicoleIsStoked

I would love for them to fix this ... right now the max option of tweets to receive is 60.

If you are following a lot of people, this may only be a few hours worth of tweets. I can't check UT while I am in my building at work, so it would be nice to be able to read the days worth once I am home.

Is there another Twitter client that allows for more tweets to receive?

if you do this I am afraid you would kill your battery life ..unless you are charging your phone.
