You can only have one and that's Verizons. Other then that, blackberry maps works well as do Google maps but turn by turn voice is only available on Verizon Navigator.
I will say this about VN, I have used it and it works very well, specially the later versions. If you use it a lot it's worth the money, otherwise I would just use blackberry maps.
I use Telenav and it's great. Also Garmin mobile works very well.
Does it give you voice directions? I was under the impression that VZ Navigator was the only one who did that.
In any case I still thing that VZ Navigator does an excellent job. Don't know if these other ones are cheaper. I apologize if my first post was incorrect.
You can also use Amazegps, it's audio turn by turn and it's 100% free.
I use Amaze GPS and it's great, also free .
I use Garmin mobile....gives turn by turn and is exactly like the Garmin stand alone units

This got some sweet reviews. I might give this a try.
I know telenav does, like the interface better than verizons though.

Yeah, Telenav also speaks street names as well, very similar to VZ Nav. Same price but for some reason I prefer the Telenav. Also Amaze is free and very accurate and has voice for turns but not street names, darn nice for free
Sometimes we just hate giving up the bucks to big corporations and prefer giving it to the small guy. That's probably why.
Me too. Works great. I definitely recommend you give this one a shot as it is 100% FREE! :D
I've played with a bunch of the free ones.
Amaze works well, but with a Storm I find it very difficult to operate since it's pretty obvious the menus were designed to be used with navigation keys/trackball and not a touch screen. The buttons/menus are tiny and don't use the Storm's click screen instead activating with a touch. Which for someone like me with big fingers, it's an exercise in frustration since I can't tell which option I'm on without activating it Once I get a destination in (assuming I do before giving up) it works quite well as long as I don't need to change anything. The turn by turn voice commands are loud and clear and the 3D nav map looks good and contains all the info you need to get where you're going. Trying to use it during a navigational episode to find a nearby place to eat is such an episode in aggravation that I recommend against it. Until he releases a Storm version with touch and click menu controls I can't recommend it.
Nav4All is pretty crude, but it has a couple of things going for it, and it has some real problems as well. First the good stuff. It integrates with the BB contact list, so I can just pick a contact, hit menu button and say "navigate there" and Nav4all starts with that addy already inputted. It also works very well with the Storm, the buttons and menus follow the Storm touch and click operation. Now for some of the bad stuff. Unless your contact list has a complete address, and I mean postal complete with zip and country, you'll wind up putting the address in manually. The voice commands are very spotty and the volume is very low. And worse of all, in my area it's horrible at finding places. It places my own home, built in the 60's, 10 miles north of it's real location. Of the first 5 places I tried to navigate to, it only got 2 of them right. Sorry, but it's got to be better than that.
Google maps is excellent. Fantastic maps, a satellite view that's so good I can zoom down to the roof my my house and the blue location dot shows me in the correct part of the house, great menu controls and an excellent moving map. Very good turn by turn driving directions but NO real time voice navigation commands. Sharing locations with friends is works well and is kind of neat.
Poynt works well for a lot of things, but turn by turn navigation sucks. If you miss a turn it does not automatically reroute, you have to tell it. Turn by turn voice instructions low in volume are horribly slow, with as much as 3 or 4 seconds between words. It's better at finding residential address than Nav4all, but not much. It's great at finding restaurants, movie times, golf courses, etc, etc. But as a full time navigation device, it leaves a lot to be desired.
As a self employed person who visits 3-5 locations a day, I've got to have a good navigation device. My current standalong GPS, a TomTom One, is getting dated and I really don't want to invest $70 in maps for it and was hoping the Storm and a free nav program would take it's place. But not yet.
The Garmin software looks nice, but considering the frequency with which I break phones the fact that they'll only transfer it once makes me stay away.
Telenav and VZnav seem nice, but at $10 a month and with decent standaone GPS devices at $100 to $150, I see no cost benefit to paying a monthly fee of $120 a year instead of having a standalone GPS mounted to my dash.
I have tried them all except for navigator and the garmin is the best hands down. It is just like a standalone unit and you dont have a monthly fee. You also get free maps for the lifetime of your phone. I bought mine for a 1 time fee of $79 and it works perfect.
any updates for these maps? thanks
Unlike standalone gps where you download the maps into the device, BB turn by turn gps apps are all online. So the maps are always up to date. You do need a hefty data plan for map data and voice (street names).
May have been free when you posted this but now if you want any features you pay $34 per year.

Not a huge price but not free like I thought it was going to be. Viewing the vids it does look pretty cool, though. Will have to see if it will work on hubby's phone, being a trucker he's the one who needs something like this the most.
Oh wow, am I ever glad you mentioned this. Hubby doesn't have a data plan so we'd be paying thru the nose for this. Guess he's gonna have to stick to his old Garmin. Darn!
