- Docs to Go works very well. If you use the free version the comes with the upgrade, you won't be able to creat a new doc. You'll need to email blank docs to yourself from a PC with Word to open and edit. If you buy the full version, you will be able to create docs too. Then email them to yourself, or plug in and enable mass storage mode to drag the doc(s) off your media card to your PC to print.

- I'm not too sure hyper. I have opened and edited my documents. I think the full version gives you more editing options. I'm sure you'll need to work with some and then see how they look. It is a great application.
When you are about to upgrade to 4.5, just before you click next to start the load, you need to click the Advanced tab in apploader, then look down the list of apps available and put a check in the box next to documents to go, then click next to start the install. After you're done upgrading, open docs to go on your device (it's icon is a little suitcase). Then press the menu key and select register D2G. Once you have registered your app, press the menu key again and select search for updates. The app will do to the Dataviz site. There select to download the free upgrade. This will give you excel as well as Word and PowerPoint.
Like I said, you need to send yourself blank docs or workbooks to open and edit with the free bersion.

BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) 2.5 or higher (for native attachment downloading and uploading)11-27-08 11:54 PMLike 0 - That's a great idea steve0!
Now Hip, since you have already upgraded and don't have docs, you will need to go back in, plug in and open apploader, then open add/remove applications. Look down the list of applications and put a check in the box next to documents to go, then click next to install it to your device. Once you've done that, you'll be able to follow the above instructions to finish the install/upgrade.
One last thing you all need to know is that apploader will remove the D2G upgrade when you use it to upgrade again or use it to install an app. To prevent it from doing this, you'll need to rename it's extension in apploader. Once you do thisn apploader will see it as a 3rd party application. Then it will save and restore it when you upgrade, and it will ignore it when you use apploader for other functions. I have posted the renaming instructions below. Good luck to you all. now in the words of John Lennon, "I've got blisters on my fingers!"
If you do an OS upgrade after you have the new free version of Docs To Go installed do the following before loading the new OS:
1. Navigate to C:/program files/common files/research in motion/loader files/<your BBModel and OS version>/
2. Rename DocumentsToGo.alx to DocumentsToGo.old.
3. Install the OS (or continue with my edits as outlined in the Optimize your BB Memory thread.)
This way when Apploader is run, the loader will pick up Docs to Go as a 3rd party app and back it up and restore it normally. If you don't delete or rename the DocumentsToGo.alx file the loading process will downgrade the Docs To Go to the version included in the OS. We'll have to do this until RIM includes the new version in the OS packages.

- Hyper, you need to upgrade your OS. You will find the information you need to do this here at crackberry. It involves downloading, saving and installing Desktop manager to your PC to handle the upgrade and a new OS to install. The docs to go app will come with 4.5 OS.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com11-28-08 12:07 AMLike 0 - oh i'm gettin confused. OS on my mac then i should be good to go... I dont know how u guys keep all this stuff strate11-28-08 12:19 AMLike 0
- A slight snag. You have a mac? You need to go over to the mac forum and ask how to upgrade your OS with a mac. Desktop manager, the app you need to install the new OS can only be run in Windows. And what this involves is installing desktop manager to install the OS and having a copy of the OS installed on your computer to be loaded onto your berry. They are both 70 to 80 mb files. So go to the mac forum and ask how to upgrade an. OS with a mac. Sorry - couldn't help more.
