Got a question. Will there be a version that will reset the phone when it's turned off.

Got a question. Will there be a version that will reset the phone when it's turned off.
Please don't do this. It will fill the log with garbage. The log is useful bc it provides periodic data that is tractable. Garbage collection is just a bonus.

GC, It sure seems like the new version has a real mean leak issue...
Any thoughts...?
then it occurred to me - it probably turned the event log back on... which uses application memory.
I just set it to "hide all" and cleared the Log, so we'll see if that works.
There is no way to disable the event log. "Hiding" the event log does nothing but prevent certain entries from appearing. The event log is ALWAYS enabled.
We test extensively for memory leaks with each new release, and this version did not show any.
What are you considering a memory leak?
Have you installed any other applications or upgraded your OS?

I've used the "recover memory" option twice and first time (yesterday) it did nothing.
I ran it just a few minutes ago because my memory had dropped throughout the day.
After running "recover memory" I LOST 13mb.. Lol
How is this?

an AMAZING update...
.141
amazingly more app mem for me
Sometimes this does occur. It's just the nature of the OS. This is why I said to use it somewhat sparingly.

I too find it has little effect. It also does not appear to engage automatically when the phone is
Idle.

It does engage automatically when your phone is idle if you have the option set to do so. If you don't see a big difference, your phone is running efficiently and there isn't much memory to recover.

Yeah for recovering memory, I would get memory up professional. works real well.
What is the big difference between using quicklaunch and meterberry, I have quick launch and I am wondering why I need meterberry. Thanks.
MeterBerry is a completely different product than QuickLaunch. Please take a look at the MeterBerry website (see my signature) for details.
yah but quicklaunch gives me how much battery life I have and so I dont know why I need meterberry (I did read the website, maybe I am missing something). Does meterberry tell you if you have a mem leak?
FYI your signature doesn't show when you post on wap!
Can we have all of the buttons that show logs on the same side? I think the consistency of having the event log on the same side as the other two.

Good suggestion, thanks.

Displaying the battery percentage is one tiny piece of what MeterBerry does.
From the features page, this is what MeterBerry does that QuickLaunch doesn't:
* Auto-refreshing status screen displays battery, memory, and device info and statistics.
* Calculates average battery discharge rate over time.
* Calculates change in free application memory since the device was last started, allowing you to detect memory leaks.
* Customizable, dynamic home screen icon shows battery, memory, or device info.
* Icons change color to indicate status.
* Customizable battery and memory notifications.
Be notified when your battery or memory drops below a threshold you define, even when MeterBerry isn't open.
* Logs your battery level and memory usage over time.
Track down applications that are causing excessive battery usage or memory leaks.
* Initiate a soft-reset (battery pull) on-demand or schedule one daily at a specific time.
* Initiate the Java garbage collector on-demand or hourly when the phone is idle to free up application memory.
* Clear the system Event Log hourly when the phone is idle to free up application memory.
I'm sure there are just as many things QuickLaunch does that MeterBerry doesn't.
Just to reiterate, the only way to recover application memory on a BlackBerry device is through the Java garbage collector, period. Other memory applications use lots of fancy words and pictures to make their claims, but in the end, the garbage collector recovers memory. The garbage collector is initiated by the OS automatically, or it can be initiated programmatically. This is what the "Recover Memory" button does. Just a simple, quick API call.
I have had reports from people that claim it does amazing things, some claim it does nothing, and some say it reduces their free memory. The affect it has on your phone depends on your OS, the applications you have installed, your usage patterns, and other factors. Feel free to experiment. If you chose not to use it there will be no ill affects.
Cashew I got my memory notice that my memory had fallen below 25 mb and with the new options I ran mem cleaner and got back to 37 mb! You rock!
Saved me a reboot!

Like I said... for some, it does amazing things. ;)
This is a great app, I use the reset every night feature and never have problems with my phone anymore!
Is there anyway I can get a hold of 1.3.14?
I upgraded and prefer the 1.3 version (and only have 1.3.11 backed up.)
Thanks
EDIT: nm, I found it.
Hiding it appears to help, though.. I haven't dropped below 27 since deleting the log and doing "hide all"
a HUGE event log might be worth 1-2 mb.
