meterberry does not yet work with 5.0 but you can try memory eye for reboot.
Memory Eye has always worked for me. QuickLaunch Reset Device works for me now. Some people are still having problems with it. QuickPull works for some and not for others.
The device reset feature in the current version of MeterBerry does not work in OS 5.0.0.323 due to bugs in the OS.
There are actually two problems here:
1. The Cross Application Communication error is due to an OS bug introduced by RIM back in 4.7.0.151. It hasn't been fixed yet. We know how to work around this, but...
2. There is either another OS bug, or RIM has prevented applications from programmatically "clicking" the REBOOT NOW button in the dialog that appears when performing a device reset. Note that the only means third party applications have of performing a device reset is to throw up this dialog and then either have the user click REBOOT NOW, or click it programmatically.
Right now MeterBerry programmatically clicks the REBOOT NOW button on both on-demand and scheduled resets. We could release a fix for #1 above, but then:
a) You would have to manually click REBOOT NOW for on-demand resets. This isn't a big deal, and on-demand resets would work.
b) Scheduled resets wouldn't work due to #2 above.
With that said, we're still looking into it.
So glad to hear a developer on top of the issue and being up front with us, looking forward to an update!
SoftReset worked for me with .167 so maybe it's a 5.0 OS thing. I used it all the time when I was on .167.
Another way to reboot is go to the phone dial pad then type ##000000 then hit send then find SIP password then type in vzw then hit save and it will reboot.
The reset function in quick launch properly resets on .323
It envokes the system reboot and works flawlessly.
